The Miami Marlins might not be done after adding a piece for their playoff push Friday in reliever David Robertson.

Miami is keeping an eye on star Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson, whom the South Siders could deal this week now that the club is tearing things down, ESPN's Jesse Rogers reports.

It's unclear if the White Sox will trade Anderson before the Aug. 1 deadline. They're reportedly not interested in moving the likes of Dylan Cease and Luis Robert Jr. - who are both under team control for several more years - but most of their other players appear available.

Anderson hasn't looked like himself this campaign, sporting a career-worst .564 OPS with no home runs and 18 RBIs over 79 games. But the former batting champion has started the second half hot, hitting .347/.407/.388 in 12 contests since the All-Star break. Anderson also comes with a $14-million club option for 2024 that can be bought out for $1 million.

The 30-year-old has spent his entire career with the White Sox, winning his batting title in 2019 and a Silver Slugger in the shortened 2020 season.

A revitalized Anderson would be a perfect fit atop a Miami offense that lacks punch outside of Luis Arraez and Jorge Soler. He'd allow Marlins shortstop Joey Wendle to shift to third base or a utility role while moving the struggling Jean Segura to the bench.

Miami personnel was also scouting relievers Kendall Graveman and Joe Kelly this week at Guaranteed Rate Field, according to Rogers. But the Marlins were unable to reel in either of them, as the White Sox reportedly dealt Kelly to the Los Angeles Dodgers and sent Graveman to the Houston Astros on Friday.
