The Buffalo Bisons placed Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Alek Manoah on the temporarily inactive list.
The temporarily inactive list is for minor-league players who are away from their team for a few days and are not placed on the injured list.
Manoah last pitched in a game Aug. 10 when he allowed four runs across four innings for the Blue Jays against the Cleveland Guardians.
He was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo the following day but hasn't appeared in a contest for the Bisons.
Manoah is still with Buffalo, a source told Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet. The move to the temporarily inactive list clears a roster spot as Manoah continues his ramp-up.
The 2022 AL Cy Young finalist was also optioned to the Florida Complex League in June before he returned to the Blue Jays for six starts.
Manoah, 25, struggled to the tune of a 3-9 record with a 5.87 ERA and 79 strikeouts across 87 1/3 innings for the Blue Jays in 2023.
