Dodgers owner Mark Walter considering buying L.A. Times
As if Los Angeles Dodgers owner Mark Walter didn't own enough.
According to a report by Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times, Walter's is looking into the possible purchase of the Los Angeles Times, the fourth-highest online accessed newspaper in the United States.
Walter currently is the chief executive of Guggenheim Partners, which own the Dodgers, but despite his interest in the Times, he has not put any formal offer together yet.
The Times are currently owned by the Tribune Company which also owns the Baltimore Sun and Chicago Tribune among others.
This would not be the first time a MLB team and a newspaper have shared ownership. Earlier this month, principal owner of the Boston Red Sox John Henry purchased the Boston Globe for $70 million.
