The Cleveland Guardians hired Stephen Vogt as their new manager, the club announced Monday.
He'll receive a three-year contract, sources told ESPN's Jeff Passan.
Vogt spent the 2023 season as the bullpen and quality control coach for the Seattle Mariners after retiring as a player following the 2022 campaign.
The 39-year-old will replace Terry Francona, who stepped down at the end of the 2023 season after 11 years in Cleveland.
The Guardians also interviewed Milwaukee Brewers manager Craig Counsell for the position.
Vogt enjoyed a successful career as a catcher for six different teams. His best seasons came as a member of the Oakland Athletics where he made a pair of All-Star appearances in 2015 and 2016.
