Report: Blue Jays, Orioles among 6 teams interested in Germán
Former New York Yankees right-hander Domingo Germán is in talks with six teams over a potential deal, including the Toronto Blue Jays and Baltimore Orioles, the New York Post's Mark W. Sanchez reports.
The 31-year-old completed the required steps of an alcohol treatment program, a source told Sanchez.
Germán's season ended last August after he decided to seek treatment following an incident in the Yankees clubhouse where he reportedly got into confrontations with teammates, flipped over a couch, and smashed a television.
Germán has already received two offers and is expected to receive a major-league deal, according to Sanchez. It's unknown which teams have made offers, but the New York Mets are reportedly the least likely suitor among those interested.
The Dominican had an up-and-down 2023, which included a perfect game against the Oakland Athletics on June 28.
Germán owns a 31-28 record with a 4.41 ERA and 1.18 WHIP in six big-league seasons. His best campaign came in 2019 when he won 18 games in a career-high 143 innings.
