Reigning NL MVP Ronald Acuña Jr. is making it known that he wants to be with the Atlanta Braves for the rest of his career.

"It's not a secret that I want to be a Brave for life," Acuña said Friday, according to The Athletic's David O'Brien. "It's my hope that we can make that happen soon."

Acuña signed an eight-year, $100-million contract extension in 2019, which has quickly become one of baseball's biggest bargains. The 26-year-old is under team control through the 2028 campaign.

Acuña enjoyed a transcendent season at the plate for the Braves in 2023. He became the first player in MLB history to hit at least 40 home runs and steal at least 70 bases in a season.

Acuña slashed .337/.416/.596 with 41 home runs, 149 runs scored, 106 RBIs, and 73 stolen bases across 159 games last season.
