GIF: Dbacks Gibson could nominate this ump for worst calls of 2013

Diamondbacks' manager Kirk Gibson is probably really tired of extra innings. The D-backs set a franchise record Sunday; the 10th inning against the Giants marked their 22nd extra-innings game in 2013.

Gibson might also be really tired of umpire Tom Hallion blowing calls. Like this Aaron Hill inning-ending groundout that Hallion called safe from his vantage point at first base.

The umpires convened after Giants' George Kontos (obviously) lost his mind over the decision. The call was changed to an out (obviously).

Gibson came out of the dugout to argue, though likely not so much the call itself as Hallion's tremendously poor ability to see what is going on in a baseball game.

The manager was ejected during Friday's contest for arguing Hallion's twice-blown call on Miguel Montero, who tagged out Pablo Sandoval at home. Twice. Gibson blasted the ump with a variety of colorful words that begin with 'f'.

As of the 11th inning Sunday, the D-backs were third all-time in extra innings played in one season with 72. The 1969 Minnesota Twins hold the record with 76.

Diamondbacks' pitchers brought a 1.70 ERA through 70 extra innings of work into Sunday's game.

The loss was the first getaway-day loss in extras for Arizona. They are 10-1 in extra-innings on getaway days.
