Cole not a fan of Blue Jays' Vogelbach's slow HR trot

New York Yankees ace Gerrit Cole wasn't pleased with Daniel Vogelbach after his home run.

The Blue Jays designated hitter belted a two-run homer off Cole in the first inning of Friday's game and proceeded to flip his bat and slowly trot around the bases.

Cole took exception with Vogelbach admiring a home run in spring training and admitted he would remember it once the regular season begins.

"Yeah, what's the day? Are we still in February? March 1? Yeah, he enjoyed that homer," Cole said, according to MLB.com's Bryan Hoch.

Cole and the Blue Jays have some history. The reigning AL Cy Young winner had a heated exchange with Alek Manoah after the Blue Jays right-hander hit Aaron Judge with a pitch during a game in 2022.

Manoah took the exchange a step further, later calling Cole the "worst cheater" in MLB history in an interview following the 2022 season.

The Blue Jays and Yankees will play their first regular-season series beginning April 5 at Yankee Stadium.
