2024 fantasy baseball rankings: Relief pitcher
Here are the 2023 relief pitcher rankings for standard 5x5 leagues.
Rankings
Top 200 | C | 1B | 2B | 3B | SS | OF | SP | RP
Note: Rankings were updated after Devin Williams suffered a back injury that will keep him out three months.
Why Hader's No. 1: Picking between Hader and Williams was tough until the Milwaukee Brewers right-hander injured his back. This immediately pushed the Houston Astros closer into our top spot among relievers. Hader, who owns a career 15 K/9, should get plenty of opportunities to earn saves on his new team, who have won 90 or more games in every full season since 2017.
Player worth reaching for: Phillips may not be a household name, but he's been one of the top bullpen arms over the past two seasons, authoring the second-lowest ERA (1.59) among relief pitchers. He should get plenty of opportunities to earn saves for the Los Angeles Dodgers, who are expected to win a lot of games this upcoming campaign.
Dark-horse pick: Yuki Matsui was impressive during his 10-year stint in Japan, saving 236 games with ridiculous strikeout numbers (career 12.0 K/9). If Suarez struggles, Matsui will likely be the San Diego Padres' first option to close. He should also get plenty of opportunities to pick up holds if your league uses that stat.
