Brewers acquire Mitch White from Giants for cash
The Milwaukee Brewers acquired right-hander Mitch White from the San Francisco Giants in exchange for cash considerations, the team announced Friday.
White, whom the Toronto Blue Jays designated for assignment in April, made three relief appearances for the Giants this season. He allowed seven earned runs over 5 1/3 innings with a 2.44 WHIP.
The 29-year-old has pitched as both a starter and reliever in the major leagues. His best season came in 2021 when he posted a 3.66 ERA and 1.18 WHIP across 21 appearances for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Brewers also announced they designated righty Corbin Martin for assignment in a corresponding move.
White should provide bullpen depth for the Brewers, who continue their four-game series with the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday night.
