Report: Braves, Laureano agree to minor-league deal
The Atlanta Braves agreed to a minor-league deal with outfielder Ramón Laureano, reports FanSided's Robert Murray.
Laureano was released by the Cleveland Guardians on Sunday after slashing .143/.265/.229 with one home run and four RBIs in 31 games. He fared much better at the dish for the Guardians last season, producing a 102 OPS+ with 14 RBIs and four steals in 41 contests.
The Dominican is considered a gifted outfielder. He amassed 21 career defensive runs saved and famously fired a 321-foot throw from the outfield wall to record a double play in 2018 when he played for the Oakland Athletics.
The Braves were on the hunt for additional outfield depth after superstar Ronald Acuña Jr. tore the ACL in his left knee on Sunday. The 26-year-old will miss the remainder of the season.
