Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is ready to play more third base if that's what the Toronto Blue Jays want from him.

Guerrero started his first game at the hot corner since the 2019 campaign in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates.

"If they need me for a long time at third, I'm going to be at third," Guerrero said, according to Sportsnet's Shi Davidi. "If they don't need me for a long time, I'm going to be at first again. Right now, I feel good. If they need me catching, I don't know if I can do that, but I'll do everything for my team."

Guerrero made only two appearances for a total of four innings at third base since the end of 2019 before Sunday.

Blue Jays manager John Schneider stressed that the team isn't considering a position change for Guerrero but said he'll likely see some time at third base moving forward.

"It's not a position change for Vlad," Schneider said. "The things that he can do offer us some flexibility. And every starter we face is going to be different."

Having Guerrero at third enabled Schneider to put Justin Turner at first base with Daniel Vogelbach handling DH duties. Vogelbach provided the big hit in Sunday's win, delivering a two-run double in the fifth inning.
