Judge 'wasn't too happy' with Soto chants during Grisham AB

New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge admitted he "wasn't too happy" with fans' "we want Soto" chants during one of Trent Grisham's at-bats Sunday but said his teammate responded well by hitting a three-run homer in their 6-4 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Grisham, who started his third consecutive game in the outfield while Soto sat out with a forearm issue, clobbered a 2-1 fastball from Tyler Glasnow into the right field stands to put the Yankees on top of the Dodgers in the sixth inning after the chants took place.

Grisham said he heard the chants but wasn't out to send a message to Yankees fans with the homer.

"I was just happy I was able to stay present in the moment and worry about myself, and I ended up putting a good swing on one," Grisham said, according to SNY.

The two-time Gold Glover said he also heard "we want Grisham" chants as he stepped to the plate in his following at-bat during the eighth inning. He drew a walk in that plate appearance.

New York acquired the 27-year-old in the same trade as Soto last December. Grisham has only appeared in 25 games for the Yankees, hitting .100/.258/.280 with three homers and nine RBIs in 50 at-bats.
