Ranking 2024's new MLB City Connect uniforms
The latest round of City Connect uniforms is upon us, with nine more teams across baseball getting a new alternate look.
We ranked last year's City Connect uniforms from worst to best with the Pittsburgh Pirates taking the crown. With plenty to choose from in 2024, let's see which teams hit it out of the park - and which struck out.
9. Detroit Tigers
The Motor City angle is tired, the color scheme is bland, and the font screams beer-league softball. Someone call the pit crew.
8. St. Louis Cardinals
It's going to take more than a Nelly-led hype video to convince us this isn't just a worse version of a classic baseball uniform.
7. Philadelphia Phillies
The hats are pretty cool. The jerseys, however, are bizarre in an apparent attempt to appeal to younger Phillies fans.
6. Minnesota Twins
The Twins may have copied the Golden State Warriors' homework a little too closely. At least the details are thoughtful.
5. New York Mets
The Mets seem to emphasize travel in their City Connects, especially New York City's subway lines. The dark gray is a bit of an odd choice for a team that usually leans on white, blue, black, and orange.
4. Los Angeles Dodgers
The City Connects are supposed to be light and fun. These probably aren't everyone's cup of tea, but the speckled jersey is definitely different, thanks in part to placing the names beneath the jersey numbers.
3. Cleveland Guardians
The colors are clean, and having the pants complement rather than match the jersey was a great choice. "CLE," however, was not.
2. Toronto Blue Jays
Including Toronto's skyline and its reflection off Lake Ontario is a nice touch. The red works nicely with the midnight blue of the uniforms.
1. Tampa Bay Rays
The glow-in-the-dark idea is fun, bold, and creative - checking all the boxes City Connect uniforms are supposed to tick.
