Rockies' Cave carted off after taking line drive to head during BP
Colorado Rockies outfielder Jake Cave was carted off the field after being struck in the side of the head by a line drive during batting practice before Friday's game at Coors Field, according to The Denver Post's Patrick Saunders.
The 31-year-old was down for around 10 minutes, and trainers were seen applying pressure to his head, according to Rockies TV host and field reporter Kelsey Wingert-Linch.
The Rockies announced Cave suffered a minor cut to his forehead.
Cave said after Friday's 5-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates that he received four stitches but felt good and had no symptoms of a concussion after being looked at by doctors.

Cave was supposed to start in right field but was scratched from the lineup following the accident.
The Rockies purchased the seven-year MLB veteran from the Philadelphia Phillies in March. He's hitting .238/.302/.305 with three doubles and seven RBIs in 51 games.
