Pirates select prep star Konnor Griffin 9th overall

With the ninth pick in the 2024 MLB Draft, the Pittsburgh Pirates selected Konnor Griffin, a shortstop/outfielder from Jackson Preparatory School in Mississippi.
Griffin is the first high schooler taken in the draft. His time at Jackson Prep included state titles in every one of his years at the campus, extending the school's championship streak to seven straight seasons.
