With the 11th pick in the 2024 MLB Draft, the Detroit Tigers selected Bryce Rainer, a shortstop from Harvard-Westlake School in California.
Rainer vaulted to the top of draft boards after dropping the idea of becoming a two-way player and focusing on a position. The change allowed him to perform well at the National High School Invitational in the spring, where some considered him the best player.
