Texas Rangers star shortstop Corey Seager was forced to leave Saturday's game against the Baltimore Orioles after taking a pitch off his left wrist in the top of the fifth inning.

The team trainer attended to Seager, who immediately walked into the tunnel in obvious discomfort.

Initial X-rays on Seager's wrist were negative and he will be re-evaluated Sunday, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.

Josh Smith moved from third base to shortstop to start the bottom of the fifth with Seager out of the game.

The 30-year-old opened the scoring in the first inning with his 15th home run of the season.
