The Los Angeles Dodgers agreed to a minor-league deal with right-hander Jordan Lyles, according to the New York Post's Jon Heyman.

Lyles was released by the Kansas City Royals on July 20. The 33-year-old was in the second season of a two-year, $17-million contract he signed with the Royals before the 2023 campaign.

The veteran hurler joins a pitching-starved Dodgers rotation that's presently without injured starters Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Clayton Kershaw, Walker Buehler, Dustin May, Tony Gonsolin, and Emmet Sheehan.

Los Angeles also activated Tyler Glasnow from the IL on Wednesday and designated left-hander James Paxton for assignment Monday.

Lyles has pitched 1,509 innings across 14 big-league seasons. He's had stops with the Royals, Houston Astros, Colorado Rockies, Texas Rangers, San Diego Padres, Milwaukee Brewers, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Baltimore Orioles.

Lyles owns a 5.22 career ERA in 357 outings, including 245 starts.
