The New York Mets acquired reliever Ryne Stanek from the Seattle Mariners, the team announced Friday.

The Mariners received minor-league outfielder Rhylan Thomas in return.

Stanek pitched to a 4.38 ERA and 1.33 WHIP with 44 strikeouts across 39 innings out of Seattle's bullpen in 2024.

The eight-year veteran owns a career 118 ERA+ and 10.5 K/9 and should bolster a beleaguered Mets bullpen currently without right-handers Reed Garrett and Sean Reid-Foley.

The 33-year-old will be an unrestricted free agent after this season.

The Mets designated lefty Josh Walker for assignment to make room for Stanek on the active roster.

Thomas entered the campaign as the No. 30 prospect in the Mets' system on MLB Pipeline's preseason rankings. He played 25 games at Double-A before being promoted to Triple-A, where he slashed .235/.286/.377.

The Mets drafted him in the 11th round of the 2022 MLB Draft.
