The Tampa Bay Rays recalled infielder Junior Caminero, the organization's top prospect, they announced Tuesday.
Infielder Curtis Mead was optioned to Triple-A Durham in a corresponding move.
Caminero is the second-ranked prospect on MLB Pipeline's top 100.
Caminero, a 21-year-old third baseman, slashed .276/.331/.498 with 13 home runs at Triple-A before being called up. He made his MLB debut last September and appeared in seven games with the Rays.
The young slugger's most tantalizing tool is his 70-grade power, which pairs nicely with an advanced 60-grade hit tool.
Tampa Bay acquired Caminero for right-hander Tobias Myers in a trade with the Cleveland Guardians in November 2021.
