The Miami Marlins informed right-hander Sandy Alcantara that they won't trade him this offseason, sources told Craig Mish of the Miami Herald.
Alcantara is continuing his rehab after undergoing Tommy John surgery last October. The 28-year-old is expected to be ready for the start of the 2025 campaign.
Alcantara is under club control for two more seasons with a $21-million club option in 2027 as part of a five-year, $56-million extension he signed in 2021.
The 2022 NL Cy Young winner owns a 41-55 record with a 3.32 ERA and 789 strikeouts during his seven-year career.
