Jesse Winker whipped the Citi Field crowd into a frenzy when he belted a walk-off home run to defeat the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday.
"That was crazy. I blacked out, 100%," Winker told SNY's Steve Gelbs postgame. "I still can’t believe that. That’s unreal."
The home run was Winker's first with the Mets after he was acquired from the Washington Nationals on July 28.
"This place is lit. This place is unreal," Winker said. "I love this shit. We need everyone, so we appreciate y'all. Happy to be on this side. Let's go Mets!"
The win pulled the Mets to within two games of the Atlanta Braves for the final National League wild-card spot.
