Dodgers place Stone on IL with shoulder inflammation
The Los Angeles Dodgers placed right-hander Gavin Stone on the injured list with shoulder inflammation, the team announced Friday.
Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman is unsure if Stone will return this season.
"There is just so much unknown around it," Friedman said, according to David Vassegh of SportsNet LA.
Stone joins a crowded list of Dodgers starters on the IL, including Tyler Glasnow, Clayton Kershaw, and Yoshinobu Yamamoto, though Yamamoto is expected to rejoin the rotation on Tuesday.
Injured Dodgers starters
PITCHER | INJURY |
---|---|
Tyler Glasnow | Elbow tendinitis |
Tony Gonsolin | Tommy John surgery |
Clayton Kershaw | Toe inflammation |
Dustin May | Flexor tendon surgery |
River Ryan | Tommy John surgery |

The 25-year-old Stone had been the only member of the Dodgers rotation to remain healthy all season, posting an 11-5 record with a 3.53 ERA in 25 starts (140 1/3 innings).
Los Angeles has had 16 different pitchers start games in 2024.
The Dodgers recalled right-hander Landon Knack and left-hander Justin Wrobleski and optioned right-hander Michael Petersen in corresponding moves.
