Guerrero becomes youngest player in Blue Jays history to 500 RBIs
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is now the youngest player in Toronto Blue Jays history to reach 500 career RBIs.
The 25-year-old accomplished the feat with an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning during Saturday's 7-2 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals.
He reached the milestone in 806 career games, which is second fastest in franchise history behind Carlos Delgado's 714.
"That's a blessing," Guerrero told Sportsnet's Hazel Mae after the victory.
He added, "I try to help my team to win every time. I try to do it for my team, for the city, for the fans."
Guerrero's enjoyed a terrific season at the plate, slashing .320/.394/.545 with 28 home runs, 41 doubles, and 96 RBIs in 146 games.
Asked if the 2024 campaign has been the best season of his career, Guerrero responded: "I'm not done yet."
