The Atlanta Braves are going to get a big boost as they attempt to secure a playoff berth with nine games remaining in the season.
Atlanta activated second baseman Ozzie Albies from the injured list Friday, the team announced.
Albies hasn't played since July 21 after fracturing his wrist trying to prevent a stolen base.
Before the injury, the three-time All-Star owned a .717 OPS with 28 doubles and 46 RBIs in 90 games.
The Braves optioned infielder Cavan Biggio to Triple-A in a corresponding move.
Atlanta enters Friday two games behind the New York Mets for the final National League wild-card spot.
