Report: Yankees' Cortes undergoing MRI on elbow

New York Yankees pitcher Nestor Cortes is undergoing an MRI on his left elbow, Jack Curry of YES Network reports.

Cortes is scheduled to start Wednesday's game against the Baltimore Orioles. New York can clinch its second AL East title in three years with a victory.

Cortes has been excellent since the start of August, posting a 4-1 record with a 2.62 ERA and 8.06 K/9 across 44 2/3 innings.

The 29-year-old is 9-10 with a 3.77 ERA, a 1.15 WHIP, and 162 strikeouts in 31 appearances (30 starts) this season.
