Chicago White Sox left-hander Garrett Crochet said he hopes interim manager Grady Sizemore returns next season.

"An easy guy to follow, a leader in the clubhouse, and most of all, he has the credibility of playing at this level at a really high level," Crochet said Thursday, per Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times. "There's a lot of faith and trust that the guys have in him. Would love to see him here going forward."

Sizemore took over after the White Sox fired manager Pedro Grifol on Aug. 8. The former All-Star outfielder had been serving as a member of Grifol's coaching staff. Sizemore owns a 10-31 record since taking over.

"I came into the year and didn't know what to expect," Sizemore said, per Van Schouwen. "And I've had the best relationship with these guys. They've given me a new life and a new love for the game. Just the way they responded since I've been in this position is one of the best feelings I've had."

The White Sox are currently tied with the 1962 New York Mets for the most losses in a season in the modern era with 120.
