Anthony Volpe was the hero of Game 4 as the New York Yankees avoided a World Series sweep at the hands of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Volpe put the Yankees ahead in the third inning with a two-out grand slam off Dodgers right-hander Daniel Hudson.

"I pretty much blacked out as soon as I saw it go over the fence," Volpe said postgame, according to SNY. "We just wanted to keep putting pressure on them, and I think everyone had confidence in everyone in the lineup, that someone was going to get the big hit."

Volpe joined Yogi Berra as the only Yankees ever to have multiple extra-base hits and at least four RBIs in a World Series elimination game, according to MLB.com's Sarah Langs.

"It just felt like a big exhale in the dugout," Yankees outfielder Alex Verdugo said of Volpe's heroics, per SNY. "Everybody could play free and easy again."

The Yankees will look to force a Game 5 on Wednesday.
