Dodgers' Freeman named World Series MVP
Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman was named World Series MVP after an incredible performance in the club's five-game triumph over the New York Yankees.
Freeman tied Bobby Richardson's World Series record with 12 RBIs after a two-run single in the Dodgers' crucial five-run fifth inning that dug them out of an early 5-0 deficit in Wednesday's Game 5.
"Every spring training, this is our goal," Freeman said after accepting the award. "And for it to come true with this group of guys, I couldn't ask for a better year."

Freeman homered in the first four games of the series, including a dramatic walk-off grand slam to help Los Angeles win Game 1.

He rallied after struggling through a severely sprained ankle, which kept him out of the Dodgers' Game 6 win over the New York Mets in the NLCS.
The championship is the second of Freeman's career after he won the 2021 World Series with the Atlanta Braves.
