The Boston Red Sox inked free-agent reliever Justin Wilson to a one-year contract, the club announced Thursday.
The pact pays him $2.25 million with $750,000 of added bonuses triggered by games played, according to Rob Bradford of WEEI.
Wilson, 36, is coming off a season with the Cincinnati Reds in which he recorded a 5.59 ERA and 1.46 WHIP in 60 appearances. His 51 strikeouts over 46 2/3 innings equated to a 9.8 K/9.
The left-hander missed all of 2023 recovering from Tommy John surgery.
Wilson owns a 3.61 ERA (114+) across 12 MLB seasons, during which he's also played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, New York Mets, Chicago Cubs, New York Yankees, and Detroit Tigers.
