The Los Angeles Dodgers signed veteran reliever Giovanny Gallegos to a minor-league contract, a source told Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic.
Gallegos spent the last seven years of his career with the St. Louis Cardinals, authoring a 3.36 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, 44 saves, and 10.6 K/9 over 305 1/3 innings. He was released in August after posting a 6.53 ERA with 1.65 WHIP over 21 appearances this year in what was his worst campaign in the majors.
The 33-year-old dealt with a shoulder injury that cost him six weeks between May and June.
Gallegos could crack the Opening Day roster with a solid spring after the club non-tendered relievers Brent Honeywell and Zach Logue.
