The field for Juan Soto is down to five teams.

The New York Yankees, New York Mets, Los Angeles Dodgers, Boston Red Sox, and Toronto Blue Jays all made offers late last week, a source told Randy Miller of NJ Advance Media.

Negotiations with Soto's agent, Scott Boras, are next, Miller adds.

The offers are expected to go through multiple rounds to gauge genuine interest, according to The Athletic's Brendan Kuty.

There's a "very good" chance the superstar outfielder picks his next team before the winter meetings begin Dec. 8, a source told Sean McAdam of MassLive.

The Athletic's Jim Bowden reported Sunday that involved teams expect the deal to be between $550 million and $650 million, though Miller stated it's believed Soto is looking for more than $700 million with no deferred money.

Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner said he and other senior organizational figures had a "good meeting" with Soto on Monday.

Soto is coming off a tremendous first season in New York, slugging a career-high 41 home runs while maintaining his elite plate discipline. Only AL MVP Aaron Judge surpassed his 129 walks.

The 26-year-old owns a .953 OPS (160 OPS+) across seven seasons.
