Report: Teams believe Blue Jays will make highest offer for Soto
It looks like the Toronto Blue Jays are serious about their pursuit of free-agent outfielder Juan Soto.
There's widespread belief among Soto bidders that the Blue Jays will come in with the highest offer for him, according to SNY's Andy Martino.
Soto would reportedly be willing to join the Blue Jays, as a source told Martino that the 26-year-old is willing to play for any team that's involved in the final bidding process.
Offers for Soto were expected to go through multiple rounds, with the opening stages considered preliminary to gauge interest before the final rounds became serious, a source told The Athletic's Brendan Kuty last week.
Five teams - the Blue Jays, Boston Red Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Mets, and New York Yankees - have reportedly made offers to Soto. It's believed he'll decide on his future in the next 10 days, sources told MLB Network's Jon Morosi.
Soto is expected to land one of the most lucrative contracts in baseball history. He's won a batting title, a Home Run Derby, and a World Series championship across seven years in MLB.
The AL MVP finalist slashed .288/.419/.569 with 41 home runs, 128 runs scored, and 109 RBIs for the Yankees last season, helping them reach their first World Series since 2009.
