Report: Dodgers bring back Teoscar Hernández on 3-year, $66M deal
The Los Angeles Dodgers and All-Star outfielder Teoscar Hernández agreed to a three-year, $66-million contract, according to ESPN's Jeff Passan.
The deal includes a fourth-year option for $15 million, plus close to $23 million in deferred money and a $23-million signing bonus, per Passan.
Hernández said on multiple occasions he wanted to return to Los Angeles after he enjoyed a terrific first campaign with the Dodgers. The 32-year-old hit 33 home runs and 99 RBIs with 12 steals and an .840 OPS (137 OPS+).
The Boston Red Sox were also reportedly interested in the 2024 Home Run Derby champion this winter, although sources told MassLive's Chris Cotillo they didn't come close to landing him.
Hernández rejoins a powerful Dodgers lineup that consists of Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, and Freddie Freeman, among others.
