Report: Yankees agree to 1-year deal with Loáisiga

The New York Yankees are re-signing right-hander Jonathan Loáisiga to a one-year contract with a club option for 2026, a source told ESPN's Jorge Castillo.

Financial terms of the agreement are not yet known.

Loáisiga made only three appearances for the Yankees last season before undergoing surgery to repair a torn elbow ligament. He's pitched in just 20 games over the past two years because of a variety of elbow issues. Loáisiga's expected to be ready for a return to the mound in late April, according to Castillo.

Once he's healthy, the 30-year-old will add even more depth to the Yankees' bullpen, perhaps in a middle relief role.

Loáisiga owns a lifetime 3.44 ERA, 3.59 fielding independent pitching, and 1.23 WHIP along with 207 strikeouts and seven saves across 163 appearances, all with the Yankees. His best season came in 2021, when he put up a 2.17 ERA in 70 2/3 innings as a key member of New York's bullpen.
