Report: Buehler seeking multi-year deal with opt-outs

Walker Buehler is looking for a multi-year deal that includes opt-outs, sources told ESPN's Buster Olney.

The New York Yankees talked to Buehler before they signed Max Fried, and the Boston Red Sox, Detroit Tigers, and San Francisco Giants are among the teams still connected to him, Olney reports.

Buehler was a shell of himself in his return from Tommy John surgery this season with the Los Angeles Dodgers. He posted a 5.38 ERA and 1.55 WHIP across 16 regular-season starts while missing time with a hip injury.

But the righty rounded into form when it mattered.

He rebounded from a tough NDLS to throw 10 scoreless innings split between the NLCS and Fall Classic, culminating with the World Series-clinching save in Game 5 against the New York Yankees.

The 30-year-old has spent seven years with the Dodgers, earning two All-Star nods and receiving down-ballot Cy Young votes.
