Phillies sign Joe Ross to 1-year contract reportedly worth $4M
The Philadelphia Phillies agreed to a one-year contract with right-hander Joe Ross, the team announced Monday.
Ross' pact is for $4 million, sources told The Athletic's Matt Gelb.
Ross is expected to fill a swingman role for the Phillies after posting a 3.77 ERA and 3.83 FIP across 74 innings for the Milwaukee Brewers last season. He put up 10 starts in his 25 appearances.
The 31-year-old's 2024 campaign was his first big-league season in three years after he underwent his second Tommy John surgery.
Ross is the latest offseason addition by the Phillies, who traded for left-hander Jesús Luzardo and signed outfielder Max Kepler over the past week.
The Phillies designated right-hander José Cuas for assignment to make room on the 40-man roster for Ross.
