The Seattle Mariners and veteran infielder Donovan Solano agreed to a one-year contract, the club announced Monday.

Solano will make $3.5 million in 2025, a source told FanSided's Robert Murray.

"Donovan has been among the most underrated hitters in the game over the past six years," Mariners president of baseball operations Jerry Dipoto said. "His veteran presence, consistent performance, and positional versatility bring a lot to our roster."

The Mariners designated left-handed relief pitcher Austin Kitchen for assignment to make room for Solano on the 40-man roster.

Solano hit .286 with eight home runs, 13 doubles, and 35 RBIs across 96 games for the San Diego Padres in 2024. The 37-year-old is a versatile defensive player with experience at second base, third base, first base, shortstop, and left field.
