The Tampa Bay Rays acquired pitcher Alex Faedo from the Detroit Tigers for minor-league catcher Enderson Delgado and cash, the clubs announced Monday.

Detroit designated Faedo for assignment Jan. 29 to make room on its roster for the newly signed Tommy Kahnle.

Faedo recorded a 3.61 ERA and 1.34 WHIP with 55 strikeouts in 57 1/3 innings with the Tigers in 2024. He predominantly appeared out of the bullpen after working as a starting pitcher the previous two years.

Delgado, 20, hit .255/.382/.391 with four home runs and 21 RBIs in 56 games at the Rays' Single-A affiliate, the Charleston RiverDogs.

Tampa Bay signed him as an amateur free agent in 2022.
