It's been a tremendous start to 2025 for retired reliever Billy Wagner.

The former pitcher will have his No. 13 retired by the Houston Astros during an Aug. 16 ceremony, the organization announced Tuesday.

Wagner is the 10th player to have his number retired by the Astros, according to MLB.com's Brian McTaggart.

News of Wagner's number-retirement ceremony came two weeks after the 53-year-old was elected into baseball's Hall of Fame in his 10th and final year of eligibility.

Wagner spent nine of his 16 MLB seasons with the Astros, saving 225 games and striking out 694 hitters in 504 1/3 innings.

The southpaw recently said he wants an Astros cap on his Hall of Fame plaque.

"Everything began here for me," Wagner said, according to Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle.
