Report: Pirates, Pham agree to 1-year, $4M deal
The Pittsburgh Pirates agreed to a one-year, $4-million deal with outfielder Tommy Pham, sources told The Athletic's Katie Woo and Ken Rosenthal.
Pham can earn an additional $250,000 through incentives.
The 36-year-old slashed .248/.305/.368 with nine home runs, 38 RBIs, and seven steals in 116 games for the Chicago White Sox, St. Louis Cardinals, and Kansas City Royals last season. He also ranked in the 97th percentile in chase percentage and 86th percentile in squared-up percentage in 2024.
Pham should join a Pirates outfield rotation of Oneil Cruz, Bryan Reynolds, and Joshua Palacios. He can also provide Pittsburgh with another option at designated hitter alongside fellow veteran Andrew McCutchen.
The Las Vegas native is the latest offseason addition by the Pirates' front office, who also signed McCutchen, Adam Frazier, Tim Mayza, and Caleb Ferguson to big-league contracts this winter.
