Gleyber Torres is no longer with the New York Yankees, but the drama surrounding his name is still in the news.

Yankees general manager Brian Cashman brought up the infielder being unwilling to switch positions after the organization acquired Jazz Chisholm Jr. at last season's trade deadline

"I acquired Jazz to be our second baseman and move Gleyber to third the rest of last year," the executive said Thursday during an appearance on YES Network.

"(Aaron Boone) wanted to do it the other way. He moved Jazz to third after we got him and kept Gleyber at second because Gleyber didn’t want to move to third and was unwilling."

Torres, who signed with the Detroit Tigers to be their starting second baseman this winter, responded to his former boss on social media afterward.

"Still? Just turn (the page)," Torres tweeted Thursday before deleting it.

Torres was adamant about sticking at second after the trade happened and even drew criticism after telling the media he was unwilling to switch.

"I'm a second baseman. I play second," Torres said in July before adding he didn't like the idea of moving to third to accommodate Chisholm.

The Yankees decided not to re-sign Torres this offseason and are projected to use some combination of Chisholm, DJ LeMahieu, Oswaldo Cabrera, Oswald Peraza, and Jorbit Vivas at second and third base.
