The Boston Red Sox and third baseman Alex Bregman agreed to a three-year, $120-million contract with opt-outs after the first two seasons, a source told The Athletic's Chandler Rome.
Bregman is one of the biggest offseason acquisitions for the Red Sox and is expected to play second base with star Rafael Devers entrenched at third, sources told ESPN's Jeff Passan.

The Houston Astros, Chicago Cubs, and Toronto Blue Jays also reportedly showed interest in signing Bregman this offseason. Bregman apparently rejected a six-year, $156-million offer to return to the Astros.
Bregman developed into one of the best third basemen in baseball during a terrific nine-year stint with the Astros. He's a two-time All-Star, two-time World Series winner, one-time Gold Glove winner, and one-time Silver Slugger.
Bregman slashed .260/.315/.453 with 26 home runs, 30 doubles, 79 runs scored, and 75 RBIs in 145 games last season.
He's enjoyed hitting at Fenway Park in his career, posting an impressive 1.240 OPS with seven home runs, nine doubles, and 15 RBIs across 21 games in Boston.
