The Washington Nationals re-signed closer Kyle Finnegan to a one-year deal worth $6 million, according to ESPN's Jesse Rogers.
The reunion comes after Washington surprisingly non-tendered Finnegan in November after an All-Star season.
The righty drew interest from several teams around the league throughout the offseason, including the Los Angeles Angels, Boston Red Sox, and Chicago Cubs, according to Robert Murray of FanSided.
Finnegan recorded a 3.68 ERA and 1.34 WHIP in 63 2/3 innings in 2024. His 38 saves ranked second in the National League.
The 33-year-old has quietly been one of MLB's most consistent relievers over the past five seasons. Finnegan has never posted an ERA above 3.76 or an ERA+ lower than 110 since debuting in 2020.
