Don't expect to see Cody Bellinger anywhere near a chicken wing for a long time.

The New York Yankees outfielder missed Tuesday's game against the Detroit Tigers with food poisoning. He said bad chicken wings ordered from room service while staying in the Motor City caused the illness.

"I will not eat wings for five years," he said, according Newsday's Erik Boland.

Manager Aaron Boone added that Bellinger was sick all night Monday.

The 29-year-old is penciled in as the starting center fielder for Wednesday's series finale against the Tigers before an off day Thursday.

Bellinger's first season with the Yankees has been rough so far, as he's been hampered by a back issue in addition to the food-poisoning bout.

In eight games, the offseason acquisition owns a .233/278/.333 slash line with one home run and six RBIs.
