Orioles' O'Hearn optimistic about future: 'Good things to come'

Designated hitter Ryan O'Hearn believes better days are ahead for the Baltimore Orioles after they defeated the Milwaukee Brewers 8-4 on Wednesday to snap an eight-game losing streak.

"We're going to keep it rolling," he said. "There's no other choice. We're in May still, and there's plenty of time to right the ship.

"We still have good players. We have guys coming back off the (injured list). I'm a bit of an optimist, I really believe in our guys. There's good things to come in the near future."

O'Hearn recorded four hits in Wednesday's 11-inning win, driving in two runs and scoring one. The Orioles held on after blowing the lead in both the ninth and 10th frames.

Offseason addition Andrew Kittredge returned from the injured list to toss a scoreless seventh inning in his season debut.

However, the club is far from healthy, with Jordan Westburg, Colton Cowser, and Tyler O'Neill all on the injured list. Starting pitchers Kyle Bradish and Grayson Rodriguez also remain sidelined.

Baltimore's record stands at 16-32 on the season with a minus-85 run differential, the worst run differential in the American League.
