The Cincinnati Reds placed right-hander Hunter Greene on the 15-day injured list with a right groin strain.

Cincinnati also signed left-hander Wade Miley to a one-year contract.

Greene was removed from his start Tuesday after feeling discomfort in his groin. He made three starts since returning from the IL because of a groin strain he sustained May 7.

The 25-year-old has been excellent when healthy, producing a 2.72 ERA and 11.0 K/9 in 59 2/3 innings.

Miley, 38, reunites with the Reds after spending the 2020 and 2021 campaigns with Cincy. The southpaw enjoyed one of the best seasons of his career in 2021, winning 12 games and pitching to a 3.37 ERA in 163 innings.

Cincinnati has been plagued by a number of injuries this season. Christian Encarnacion-Strand, Jeimer Candelario, Noelvi Marte, Tyler Callihan, and Austin Hays are also on the IL.
