Detroit Tigers right-hander Jackson Jobe will undergo Tommy John surgery and miss the remainder of the 2025 season, the club announced Wednesday.
Jobe was placed on the injured list with a flexor strain in his elbow at the end of May.
The 22-year-old was the third overall pick in the 2021 draft. Jobe entered the season as a popular pick to win American League Rookie of the Year.
He finishes the campaign with a 4-1 record, a 4.22 ERA, and 39 strikeouts across 49 innings (10 starts).
The AL Central-leading Tigers have been deploying a rotation that includes Tarik Skubal, Jack Flaherty, Keider Montero, Casey Mize, and Sawyer Gipson-Long.
