Cubs' Crow-Armstrong doesn't see himself in Home Run Derby

If Pete Crow-Armstrong is going to participate in this year's All-Star Game festivities, it won't be as part of the Home Run Derby.

"No, that's not for me," the Chicago Cubs outfielder said Tuesday, according to ESPN's Jesse Rogers.

"That's a different kind of power. I don't know if I can withstand however long the timer is there. That would be a struggle."

Crow-Armstrong ranks seventh in the majors with 19 home runs, which he's accumulated during a breakout campaign that has positioned him to start this season's Midsummer Classic in Atlanta.

The 23-year-old was the top vote-getter among NL outfielders after Major League Baseball announced its most recent update.

Crow-Armstrong didn't eliminate himself from future consideration for the Home Run Derby, however.

"Maybe when I'm older," he joked.
